Summer Forum: Sally Hindman on “Spirituality in Action: The Richmond Tiny House Village”

Our congregation is once again enlivened and made hopeful about what can be accomplished by sheer will, strategy, compromise, diplomacy, vision and just plain fortitude.  All these attributes Sally Hindman possesses.  And these qualities of character were needed in her role as Director of Youth Spirit Artworks in Berkeley to get the original Tiny House Village launched in Oakland.  Sally has now gone on to shepherd the city of Richmond to create their FIRST, LEGAL tiny house village.  At the Summer Forum, we will hear from Sally and young leaders from Tiny Village Spirit engaged in creating the Richmond Tiny House Village, Farm & Garden. Summer Forum: "Moses as a Murderer", Mac Lingo Presenter

9:30 a.m. In-Person in Fireside Room and on Zoom, UUCB member Mac Lingo will explore this story from both the Torah, or Old Testament, and the Talmud, a collection of Jewish writings from the 3rd to 6th centuries in the common era. He will be reflecting on murder from his 10 years’ experience working with inmates at San Quentin and the effect that committing a murder has on a person’s life. Moses is described in the Torah as having murdered a man whom he saw abusing a Hebrew slave. But when you look in the Talmud there is another surprising version of the story.
