Zoom ImageSundays (twice a month), September through May from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., multi-platform presentations in the Fireside Room and on Zoom. (Please log in at 9:20 for Zoom)

Personal Theology Seminars are one-hour presentations given by speakers who come from a range of perspectives on such subjects as Sufism, Atheism, the Goddess, Christianity, Physics, Consciousness, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Altered States, and Human Potential. The Personal Theology program was founded by Bernard Loomer, former Dean of the Divinity School at University of Chicago and leader in Process Theology. It was led by Martha Helming from 1991 to 2013. Participants listen to and engage with theological, scientific, spiritual and consciousness leaders, as well as present their own topics and spiritual journeys. Seminars pursue the UU values of drawing inspiration from diverse traditions and deepening one’s life. Honoraria for some speakers are supported by contributions from the audience.

Personal Theology Committee: Anne Wardell (co-chair), Lonnie Moseley (co-chair/Zoom tech support).

For information about Personal Theology or to suggest a speaker, email adulted@uucb.org and a member of the Personal Theology team will get in touch.

  • Personal Theology: Rev. Dr. Jane Simmons "An Integral Approach to Evolutionary Transformation"
    19 Apr 26

9:30 a.m. In-Person in the Fireside Room and on Zoom. The Personal Theology Committee is delighted that PT member, Karen Voorhees, has invited Rev. Dr. Jane Simmons of the Unity Church to be our guest speaker. Dr. Simmons and her husband, both retired ministers, teach a yearly course called Integral Ministry Certificate Program, based on Ken Wilber’s Integral meta-system.  Dr. Simmons will tell us why they have allied themselves with the Integral movement, and how it can help guide us through this time of cataclysmic change and on into a world we want to see for ourselves and our descendants.
