The Personal Theology program was founded by Bernard Loomer, former Dean of the Divinity School at University of Chicago and leader in Process Theology. It was led by Martha Helming from 1991 to 2013. Participants listen to and engage with theological, scientific, spiritual and consciousness leaders, as well as present their own topics and spiritual journeys. Seminars pursue the UU values of drawing inspiration from diverse traditions and deepening one’s life. Honoraria for some speakers are supported by contributions from the audience.

  • Personal Theology--"MUSIC! Is music a pathway to expanded awareness?" Dr. Barb Minton and Peppino D'Agostino, Presenters
    17 May 26

9:30 a.m. In-person in the Fireside Room and online on Zoom, Personal Theology welcomes two musicians on a shared journey: guitarist, Peppino D’Agostino, who was shaped by a lifelong career in music; and psychologist, Dr. Barb Minton, UUCB Member, returning to music after many years away. Together, Barb and Peppino will take us through an experience to show how music reaches beyond words…that music speaks directly to our inner world and shapes the way we experience meaning.  And yes, the music will be live!
