Immigrant Support Project
Immigrant Support Project
Immigrants, especially those who are undocumented, are facing threats from the current federal administration. Recently, reports of ICE activity, including arrests in the East Bay, have made people afraid to leave their homes. There are unprecedented threats to arrest immigrants in previously untouchable areas such as churches, schools and hospitals. We are dedicated to showing our love, as well as our love of justice, to the populations under attack. Our project is partnering with a number of churches and non-profit organizations serving immigrants. This project gives UUCB congregants opportunities to learn about the issues facing immigrants as well as opportunities to participate in supporting immigrants, from passing out “know your rights” information to attending forums and vigils to taking part in rapid response teams.
The Immigrant Support Project meets every first and third Sunday in person after the service. Contact Francey Liefert for more information.
