The event will honor both the Catholic saint and the pagan Goddess Brigid/Brid in all her aspects, as an emblem of female creativity and power, with performances from incredible Irish instrumentalists, singers, and dancers, as well as song and dance from She Arose women’s chorus, ritual and poetry, a demonstration of Brigid Cross and Bridie doll making, and sales of wares from local artists.
Featuring:
Amelia Hogan, Beth Schlueter, Cathy Chilcott, Diana Rowan, Erica Hockett, Deborah Schmidt, Evelie Delfino Såles Posch, Margaret Miles, Marla Fibish, Maureen Brennan, Susan Spurlock, Tess Snook O’Riva, Valerie Rose, and She Arose chorus, directed by Anne Bingham Goess.
Funds will benefit the *International Action Network for Gender Equity & Law, founded by Nancy Newman, which seeks to harness the power of pro bono legal assistance, connecting it to the cause of women’s rights locally, nationally, and around the world.
All are welcome! We hope you will come out to support this important cause, to hear some beautiful music, and to join in solidarity with Ireland’s I Am Brigid movement.
