UUCB member Mac Lingo will explore this story from both the Torah, or Old Testament, and the Talmud, a collection of Jewish writings from the 3rd to 6th centuries in the common era. He will be reflecting on murder from his 10 years’ experience working with inmates at San Quentin and the effect that committing a murder has on a person’s life. Moses is described in the Torah as having murdered a man whom he saw abusing a Hebrew slave. But when you look in the Talmud there is another surprising version of the story.
