What if stories are one of the oldest ways humans create maps for living well on the land—maps of relationship between people, place, and the living world?
On Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room and streamed to Zoom, Honoring Indigenous People (HIP) member and UC Berkeley Professor Emerita, Hertha Sweet Wong's talk, "The Vitality of Indigenous Storytelling: Place, Time, Beings," will invite us into the rich and enduring world of Indigenous storytelling in North America.

The Personal Theology Committee is delighted to have Dr. Mary Mackey, author and poet, present her personal theology talk "Above Us, Beneath Us, Around Us, Inside Us: The Light of Creation." Dr. Mary Mackey, an Emeritus Professor of English, taught Creative Writing and Film at the graduate and undergraduate levels at California State University, Sacramento until her retirement in 2008. All are invited on Sunday, May 10, to the annual spring blessing of UUCB’s Three Sisters Garden. Ministerial Intern Liesl Dees will conduct the blessing during service, and after service, will lead the congregation outside to the garden, where we’ll be greeted by music, courtesy of Evelie Delfino Såles-Posch.

9:30 a.m. In-person in the Fireside Room and online on Zoom, Personal Theology welcomes two musicians on a shared journey: guitarist, Peppino D'Agostino, who was shaped by a lifelong career in music; and psychologist, Dr. Barb Minton, UUCB Member, returning to music after many years away. Together, Barb and Peppino will take us through an experience to show how music reaches beyond words...that music speaks directly to our inner world and shapes the way we experience meaning.
