Martha and Rev. Waitstill Sharp, Unitarians who secretly worked in Nazi-occupied Europe to rescue Jews, dissidents and refugee children, are the subject of a PBS documentary by Ken Burns and Artemis Joukowsky.
The documentary aired locally on KQED channel 9 September 20 and 21 2016.

Today, Unitarian Universalists carry on the Sharps’ legacy in many ways. The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee was directly inspired by their work.
