This Sunday, May 4th at 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room and on Zoom, the Personal Theology program will be an “idea sharing” session on the continuation of the Personal Theology program. Chairperson, Anne Wardell, will be stepping down after ten years of leadership!!  And we’re grateful to her.  Anne is inviting us to share ideas about whether the continuation of the Personal Theology program is possible.

Brief background on the Personal Theology Program
It is now 45 years that the program has been running.

It was originally founded by UUCB member, Bernard Loomer, former Dean of the Divinity School at University of Chicago and leader in Process Theology.
And it was led by our dear Martha Helming from 1991 to 2013.

People who come to PT listen to and engage with theological, scientific, spiritual and consciousness leaders, as well as present their own topics and spiritual journeys.
PT’s commitment is to pursue the UU values of drawing inspiration from diverse traditions and deepening one’s life is what has kept it going.
Honoraria for some speakers are supported by contributions from the UUCB church budget.

The range of speakers has been jaw dropping:  Imans, Buddhist monks, physicists, ministers, interns, priests, poets, singers, harpists, doctors, teachers, local celebrities, psychologists, scientists, theologians, rabbis, personal journeys, Native Americans, spiritual journeys, atheists, religious educators.  The incredible list goes on and on.
The question is “Can we continue this program?”
