Today, we will learn about the miraculous emotional and philosophical transformations that people can undergo as part of a wider community. We will hear of the Christian story of Jesus feeding thousands and how he impacted his community; we will also learn about other significant individuals who have created waves of social change in their community. We will work together to create a definition of community, and then discuss the most significant ways we can each impact change in our community.

Take Home: Create actionable items for creating social change within the student’s definition of community. Consider supporting a larger cause, i.e. volunteering at a non-profit or public service institution. Or, learn more from the actions of another: find an individual in history (someone other than who we studied in class!) who inspired social change.
