UUCB is delighted that our 2025-26 ministerial intern, Liesl Dees, will be Personal Theology’s first presenter of the 2026 year! Liesl will talk with us of her spiritual journey in New Mexico attending “The Church of the Big Blue Dome,” which she now calls “religious naturalism.” So many of us encounter the divine when in nature, and Liesl’s talk will inspire and encourage us to share our own experiences during the Q&A time.
Liesl Dees is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Starr King School for the Ministry and she recently relocated to the Bay Area from the northwest corner of New Mexico. Her spiritual naturalism developed there, as she experienced the sacred landscapes and ancestral lands of the Diné, Apache, and Ute peoples. Some 20 years ago, Liesl found her way to Unitarian Universalism; it became the container holding her interests in Buddhism, environmentalism and social justice, and she has been active in a lay-led fellowship.
