Join Arik Housley as he explores how we can connect, communicate, and grow together after grief.

Inspired by the heartbreak of losing his daughter Alaina, Arik shares lessons in resilience with grace and humor.

As we look back on our lives and ahead to the future, how do we honor our losses without being defined by them? This workshop explores the shift from living in grief to living with it—integrating our past heartbreaks into a narrative of strength and grace. We will focus on the sacredness of the present moment and how to maintain deep, empathetic connections with our loved ones. We’ll also share practical wisdom on “what to say when you don’t know what to say,” helping us all speak to one another with more heart and clarity during life’s most significant transitions.

Use your moments
Life is not promised, learn to be present and appreciate every minute possible.

Understanding together
Allowing vulnerability for yourself and others to create space and positivity through sitting with people in their grief.

Word searching
Learning how to speak with empathy rather than sympathy in the hard moments will build connection.

Arik Housley is an author, entrepreneur, public speaker and host of the podcast, Loss, Love & Resilience. He has served the Napa Valley community for more than 30 years, operating grocery stores, a winery and an Italian restaurant. An ardent soccer fan and former coach, Housley owns the men’s and women’s Napa Valley 1839 FC soccer teams. He and his family founded Alaina’s Voice Foundation, in honor of their late daughter, to support education, music and mental health initiatives in Napa Valley. As a national speaker, Housley inspires others to “be the positive change” and cultivate compassion and strength in the face of adversity.

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that this church occupies land in Huchiun in the unceded territory of the Chochenyo-speaking Ohlone people.  May we have the humility and courage to do our part to restore what has been broken and the wisdom to live into a new solidarity with Indigenous communities and the earth.
