UUCB’s Climate Justice Committee will host a screening of The Letter: A Message for Our Earth on April 27 at 7 pm. Donations accepted.
“The Letter” is a new documentary about how spiritual values call us to take action on the planetary crisis. It focuses on a small group of people from around the world who have an encounter with Pope Francis that gives them new hope.
It tells the story of a journey to Rome of frontline leaders to discuss the encyclical letter Laudato Si’ with Pope Francis. The exclusive dialogue with the Pope, included in the film, offers a revealing insight into the personal history of Pope Francis and stories never seen since he became the Bishop of Rome. The Laudato Si’, the “encyclical letter”–a short book that popes write– encourages us to see how “everything is connected.” The way we treat the Earth, our common home, is a reflection of how we treat each other. Caring for each other means caring for the home we share.
Attendance to this event is free, but we will welcome donations. Any funds raised will go to UUCB’s Climate Justice Committee, an action-oriented group that plans and carries out projects and actions that address local and global climate and environmental crises.
