Chalice camp is a fun and meaningful week-long summer day camp for rising 1st through 6th graders. At camp, they learn values while expanding their knowledge and capacity to be articulate about what they believe. The activities during the week include energetic daily outside worship, classic childhood games, drama, art, cooking, community building, and community service based on curriculum developed by religious educators of our faith.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. A Dramatic Reading of One-Act Play by Don Klose: “Another Day At Work: a nuclear morality play in one act”
Two young Air Force lieutenants commanding the Launch Center in a nuclear missile silo; a typical day at work takes an unexpected turn.  A moral awakening?  Actors: Carla McCasland and Samira Sheahan. Help spiffy up of our UUCB Building and Grounds. Enjoyable work for all, in good company! party starts at 9AM with coffee and cake; but come anytime to help. Outdoor Projects include removing invasive weeds and improving the terrace and parking lots. Bring work gloves and sun hat. And fun in the kitchen making sandwiches for Sunday lunch. UUCB volunteers prepare and/or serve lunch at the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP) every fourth Tuesday. Make sandwiches from 10:15 to 11 am, serve lunch between 11:15 am to 12:45 pm. If you’re interested. Contact: Andrew Swan.
