Community Overview
UUCB is a spiritual community where members and friends of all ages articulate our shared values, shaping meaning and worth out of the material of our lives, our communities, and the larger world. Worship is at the heart of congregational life and is our central commonly held spiritual practice. By incorporating the wisdom and art forms from many traditions into worship services, the diversity of cultural and spiritual practices and music brings us into deeper connection with and understanding of the world around us. Regular participation over time transforms our members’ lives toward greater depth, joy, and meaning.
Here you will find a vibrant and growing community of diverse people—young, old, multi-racial, LGBTQ—all following their hearts and minds in pursuit of learning, spiritual growth, and creating a more just world. Visit New to UUCB? for more information and resources for connecting into our community. Our programs and groups seek both to enrich our spirits and build lasting, lifelong connections.
The church buildings and grounds are located in the Berkeley Hills overlooking the entire San Francisco Bay – a truly magnificent vista. Our beautiful location and facilities are home for our members, and are available for rites of passage and life milestones, including weddings, child blessings, and memorial services. Our facilities are also available for use by the larger community – please visit our rental section for more information.
We warmly welcome you to explore our community, and hope that you find meaning, connection, and inspiration among us as we together give expression to the spirit of life.
