Re-Opening Updates
(updated March 10, 2022)
Projected Regathering March 20
COVID trend lines continue to look positive. Although as of March 3, Contra Costa Co. was in the high risk category and Alameda Co. in the Medium risk category, the trend lines point to further reductions in risk levels and cases and hospitalizations which still number in the hundreds. It appears reasonable to anticipate that by March 20, the COVID positivity rate will be much better than today and our planned regathering can proceed.
Regarding the continuing COVID risk, especially for individuals who cannot or who have not been fully vaccinated, for March 20, UUCB will continue to require key COVID safety protocols. We want all to be safe and to respect the caution of many members. Mask wearing in church buildings will be required. No food or drink will be served for the initial regathering period and advance registration with proof of vaccination status will be required. As masking experience and knowledge about easy and effective use has developed, N95, KN95 or KN94 masks are recommended by public health professionals as the best choices.
More Opening Details Next Week
Next week the Opening Task Force will share more details about what to expect in preparing for and participating in the March 20 service. This will include information on how to verify your vaccination status and register for the service. Also the message will highlight the volunteer help we will need for Sunday services going forward so our regathering can be safe and orderly.
Be Aware of Symptoms
Remember that if you have any questionable symptoms, you are advised to stay home and enjoy the live stream of the service. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
