October is a month full of musical adventure at UUCB. In addition to keyboard music and hymns we sing together, there will be choruses by Mozart and songs from musicals, a blues band, folk harp, and gamelan. Talk about variety in a music program!

October is also the month the church has a production of the musical review And the World Goes Round by the Broadway team of Kander and Ebb. This is an uplifting show with catchy tunes, romance, and powerhouse drama, by the authors of such hits as Cabaret and Chicago.

and the world goes roundWith staging and concept by Donna Davis and musical direction by me, it features the talents of Meghan Dibble, Marcelle Dronkers, Rod Lowe, Gail Simpson, Terry Stokes, Michèle Voillequé, Mark Walstrom, and Barry Zuckerman. A fundraiser for the UUCB general fund, tickets are $20 and $15, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. You have four chances to enjoy this exciting production: Saturday, Oct. 10 at 8pm; Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2pm; Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8pm; and Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4pm.  (See ad on p. 9)

Yours in harmony,

Bryan Baker
