Ease into the new year with the exquisite sounds of the flute and keyboards. Join Rustam Baibikov, flute, and Katya Kolesnikova, keyboard, as they usher in 2023 with music to gladden your heart. This will be a multicultural journey through a variety of musical styles and ages, including Sonatas by J.S. Bach, Dance of the Blessed Spirits and timeless Melody by Ch. W. Glück, haunting Vocalise by S. Rachmaninov, exciting fantasy on main themes from Carmen by François Borne and more.

Ukrainian-born Rustam Baibikov has been playing flute since he was 7 years old, graduating from music school, music college, and later – from the Maimonides State Classical Academy in Moscow. Since September 2020, he lives and performs in the US.

 

Katya Kolesnikova was born in Russia, where she began her musical studies at the age of seven. She graduated from musical School, College and Conservatory in Russia, earning advanced degrees in piano, chamber music, organ and musical science. She was then awarded a scholarship to the Ecumenical Institute of Church Music at Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, Germany, where she received yet another degree in organ performance and started working as a church organist. After moving first to Chicago, Katya worked as a church organist, piano and organ teacher and performer. She continues doing so in the San Francisco Bay Area.
