A daylong retreat to help build a community of ritual artists at the UU Church of Berkeley

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to help lead worship, or had ideas of things you’d like to bring to our weekly Sunday morning conversation? Are you interested in using worship as an art form for deepening your spirituality, relationship to our congregation, or Unitarian Universalism? This is a retreat for people who have been moved by the experience of worship and want to take a deeper dive and get involved in any aspect of worship-making, from slides to storytelling to decorating the sanctuary. All are welcome.
Together we’ll explore:
- Theological reflection as the soul-nourishing source of worship
- Interpreting and sharing our life’s stories as sacred text
- Preparing and leading worship as a communal multimedia art project
- “Metaphoraging” for themes for our services in the ’24-’25 church year
Join us 10am-4pm at the UU Church of Berkeley. If you want to help with planning and leading worship next year but can’t make it to the retreat, RSVP to say that too!
