Web of Life: P.T. Barnum, Universalist

Today we will learn about a famous showman and circus founder, the Universalist P.T. Barnum. He loved bringing excitement and joy into people’s lives. Many people thought he was out to trick his audiences, but in his home life, he was a loving family man and supporter of rights for women and African-Americans. We will try out circus activities to understand how fun brings people together. Read Twenty One Elephants or Peter Spier’s Circus to learn more about Barnum and his world.

Take Home: Today we learned some circus arts and learned about Universalist P.T. Barnum, founder of Barnum and Bailey Circus, who liked to wonder about things.
