K-1st Grade
Love Surrounds Us in Nature
Today we will explore our 7th UU principle, that we are all connected to each other and every living (and nonliving) thing on the planet. This principle connects all the other principles that complete a firm foundation for our UU identity and community. Through creative engagement we will focus on what draws us together and how we see this in nature. How can we care for each other in the ways that nature cares for all of its members? Through examining principles from the natural world we can strengthen our UU principle and values, understanding that we are in this together in love.
Take Home:
Animals are beautiful and fascinating manifestations of nature (just like us!). What connects us to animals and how does this tie into our 7th principle? Discuss with your family the ways that we are all connected through nature. What are ways that we can be responsible for the earth and all creatures on our planet?
Find poems, songs, and other artistic expressions that describe the beauty of the earth and nature. Discuss ways that nature affirms our principles and UU faith. How does caring for nature help to create a fair and just world?
