Mozart’s Coronation Mass in C Major
09-22-2024
2:00 pm
Orchestra, soloists and choir join in Mozart’s effervescent Mass in C major, the finest of his Salzburg period. This ‘mostly-Mozart’ program also includes the brilliant concert arai “Ch’io mi scodi di te’ that Mozart wrote for a soprano he was especially interested in. He included a virtuoso part for himself at the piano, probably to impress her. You’ll also delicately shimmering songs by Richard Strauss about dusk and morning, and Ola Gjeilo’s beautiful “Across the vast eternal sky” inspired by the beauty of his homeland, Norway.
Livestream available.
Tickets also available at the door.
