Come join the fun!  At the Solano Stroll, UUCB marches in the annual Parade and helps our local community celebrate its diversity and vibrancy.  The Stroll is one of the largest street fairs in the country, attracting over 250,000 visitors annually.  The street teems with art, dance, music and abundant food choices.  It is a great place to meet our East Bay neighbors and to share our enthusiasm for UUCB.

The Parade starts at 10am.  Many of us wear bright colors along with our yellow “Love” t-shirts, carry banners and placards that proclaim our UU values, make a spontaneous kazoo band, and sing one of our favorite anthems, “Let justice roll, like a mighty stream”.  We show our children and youth how enthusiastically the crowd cheers our messages of compassion and resistance.

NEW THIS YEAR

  • YELLOW: This year’s announced Parade theme color
  • CARPOOL from UUCB:  Look for news about how drivers and passengers can meet up in the UUCB parking lot to share rides to the Parade lineup;  Make new friends, while reducing the parking challenges near Solano
  • MAKE YOUR OWN PLACARDS:  Between now and September 8, look for the placard-making station in the Atrium Sundays after church;  Design your own and/or help someone else make a sign to carry in the Parade
  • Extended CHILDCARE hours:  Parents can enjoy the Stroll knowing that their little ones are being looked after at the church

This is one of four All-Church events sponsored by the Program Council.  We encourage all members to participate.  On that day, those people who choose to attend our regular UUCB Sunday service will find a cozy welcome.

Please contact a Program Council member with questions.
