Zoominescence
As we adjust to the temporary constraints of life during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are finding new and creative ways to keep UUCB’s musical community connected and thriving. Luminescence has adopted a Virtual Choir format and is embarking on a collaborative recording project. We meet on Thursday nights via Zoom for rehearsals, and we are gathering recordings of individual singers, recorded safely at home, that we will layer and blend into a beautiful choral sound.
On this page you will find PDFs of the music in our ‘virtual library’ (as it is not safe for us all to access the church right now). Also guidelines for recording yourself, and files to help you feel brave!
With thanks,
Bryan

How to contribute to the Virtual Choir
Please send files to Bryan at bryanbakersf@gmail.com, with the subject line Virtual Choir. Helpful guidelines to make this go as smoothly as possible are below.
Record yourself singing on your smart phone while listening to the recorded file of Marcelle, Meghan, Phil or Paul on your tablet or computer. Please listen using headphones or an ear piece as we want your voice only to come through on the recording.
Do a quick test recording and adjust as needed for clarity. You may need to be closer or further from you phone. If you are tech-clever, you may find ways on the recording app to adjust the sound.
Record yourself and don’t squirm or feel deflated if you don’t like it. It will not be perfect! But it will become part of a beautiful whole. Do check to be sure the recording came through, and with minimal background noise.
RECORDING APPS – IPHONE
Voice Memos is simple and effective and free. Connect your headphone or earbuds to your tablet or laptop or computer.
Open voice Memo app on your phone.
Tap the “Record” button on your phone, then “Play” on the tablet or laptop or computer.
Sing! Then stop the recording by hitting the “Record” button again.
Listen back and make adjustments as needed.
Send your sound file by touching the three dotes at the bottom left of your sound file;
choose Share; chose Mail; email to bryanbakersf@gmail.com
RECORDING APPS – ANDROID
You may well have a recording app pre-installed. If not, Easy Voice is a good simple one.
Connect your headphone or earbuds to your tablet or laptop or computer.
Open Easy Voice app on your phone.
Start the “Record” option on your phone, then “Play” on the tablet or laptop or computer.
Sing! Then tap the Blue Check Mark to save your recording.
Listen back and make adjustments as needed.
