Love for All Creatures

In this session we will focus on the third Unitarian Universalist Source expressed in child friendly language as, “the ethical and spiritual wisdom of the world’s religions.” While our 7th principle affirms the interdependence of the web of existence, our 3rd Source provides a foundation to this belief. How do other world religions help us maintain our interdependence? How do other cultures and religions demonstrate universal love and truth?

Take Home:

Explore the topic together by describing various religions and cultures. How do you resonate with these traditions? How do they differ? Take turns describing what you admire about other traditions and ways that your own traditions reflect global religions.

Visit a house of worship from another religious tradition (if possible). Discuss how the rituals made you feel, what you saw, how it connects and differs, and why it is important that all people have a house of worship if they chose to.

Discuss and explore the place of animals in various traditions. Why are animals important culturally? How are they important in your family/household?
