  • Summer Forum: Daniel Ellsberg’s Case Against Nuclear ICBM’s

    • 9:30 a.m. Summer Forum. In-Person in the Fireside Room and on Zoom. The UUCB Peace Committee is sponsoring a four-part series on "Our Moral Choices in the New Nuclear Age" June 29, July 6, July 13 and July 20, 2025. This first forum will start with the showing of a 30-minute documentary—“A Common Insanity,” which Daniel Ellsberg created shortly before his death two years ago this month.  A moderated discussion will follow. Please attend this critical series. A nuclear-free future can feel out of reach—but we are not without agency. This second forum will review the genesis and histories of these treaties and the challenges they face, the renewed nuclear arms race, and the forces pushing for, and against, a proliferation of nuclear-armed states in the 21st Century. This last forum will explore the question: Must American democracy, notwithstanding its virtues we cherish, forever be wedded to militarism and the threat and use of mass organized violence?
